The classical Panchakarma involves purification procedures, inducing ‘Langhana’. This cools and slows down metabolism, heart rate, and respiration, relaxing the nervous system. Keraliya Panchakarma involves palliative procedures, leading to ‘Brhamana’, stimulating and warming the body. This increases metabolism and energises the nervous system.
